Description

This is a PDF sewing pattern and tutorial to teach you how to create these garments. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANYTHING IN THE MAIL.

The Lizzy Dress is beautiful sundress with no tricky zippers or time consuming buttons, but still has a sleek silhouette.  Grab those woven, non-stretch fabrics you feel in love with and couldn’t find the perfect dress for, because the Lizzy is perfect for them! Named after Lizzy/Elizabeth Bennet for the empire waist, the elastic hits just under the bust and another just a bit below on the ribs. The gathered tiered skirt give this dress swish, sway, and twirl.  There is a gathered back just before the last tier that is a fun detail to set it apart from your everyday dress.  Woven dresses tend to be more difficult to fit, but this design makes it much more simple with elastic and ties that you can gather in/out to exactly your liking without having the stress.  This also provides for an easy fit for fluctuating sizes and even maternity wear.

Pattern options for the Lizzy includes:

  • Straps: Thin Straps / Sleeves
  • Lengths: Just Above Knee/ Maxi, Ankle

The Lizzy Dress Pattern is drafted for non stretch woven apparel fabrics.

Specific Fabric Suggestions: Rayon, Rayon Challis, Voile, seersucker, Georgette, poly blends, linen blends, cotton blends, etc. (I never recommend using a quilting cotton for apparel, but you can use it for this dress.  Keep in mind the fabric requirements are for apparel fabrics that are wider than quilting cottons though).

We have matching Lizzy Dress – Youth and a Lizzy Dress – Bundle (includes Youth + Adult patterns)
