Description

This is a PDF sewing pattern and tutorial to teach you how to create these garments. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANYTHING IN THE MAIL.

Are you ready to swish, sway, and (of course!) swing yourself into a new pattern with us?
The Valley Swing Dress pattern lives up to it’s name, in that it’s got some swing to it! These patterns are fitted in the bust, semi-fitted in the waist, and have an oversized fit in the hips. The ease of the bodice creates an incredibly flattering silhouette, before it swings out to a swishy, flowy skirt. This beginner friendly pattern is a perfect wardrobe staple for all seasons. Pair it with a lightweight knit and a tank top and you’ve got the cutest summer dress to keep cool in. Or sew it up with a drapey sweater knit and some long sleeves, throw on your favorite tights and booties and you’ll be incredibly fashionable this fall and winter! The colorblocked skirt hits right at the waist and allows for some fun pattern, print and color mixing combos. Or just pick a plain dress option for an even faster sewing project. Either way, you’ll love how comfortable, charming and easy this dress is to throw on!
Choose from these options:
  • tank top, short, 3/4 and long sleeves
  • shirt, tunic and above-knee hem lengths
  • colorblock or plain skirted options
The Valley Swing Dress is drafted for a mid-to-lightweight knit fabric with at least 30% horizontal stretch.
Some of our favorites are: rayon spandex, ITY, poly spandex, brushed polyester, ribbed knit, waffle knit, modal, bamboo lycra, etc.

Both imperial and metric measurements included. You will receive the easy to print and match color coded pattern pieces on NO TRIM PAGES with layers! In US letter, A4,  A0 copy shop , and Projector files, both rectangle pattern pieces and a cutting guide for rectangle pieces (so you can choose your preference), and a full color and detailed picture step-by-step tutorial and guide to making the garment.

Open the downloaded PDF in a PDF reader. For reliable access to size layers, use the free Adobe Acrobat Reader desktop app; layer support varies in other PDF viewers.

Size layers let you choose which size lines to show in supported files.

This bundle contains separate patterns. File options can differ between them; follow each pattern’s own tutorial.

Start with the instructions for your pattern and choose an available file that matches how you plan to use it.

  1. Save the PDF to your device. For reliable access to size layers, open it in the free Adobe Acrobat Reader desktop app. Layer support varies in other PDF viewers.
  2. For home printing, choose Actual size or 100%. Turn off options that shrink, enlarge, or fit the pattern to the page.
  3. Print the page with the test square first. Measure it against the dimensions shown in your file before printing the remaining pages.

If your file has size layers, select the sizes you need and keep any shared markings shown in the instructions. Follow the pattern’s page layout when assembling.

If your PDF app asks for an editing password, switch to viewing or printing instead. You do not need editing access to print the pattern.
